It is best to have your title published under a well-known imprint. Most national chains and book distributors will not purchase from self published or small press titles. We will offer your publication along with others which will increase the exposure of your book. Why do I need UPC, ISBN, and LOC codes on each book?
Most chain and larger bookstores require correct bar codes on each book for their electronic scanning at check-out counters. Your title will be registered with “Books-in-Print” using the industry’s UPC (Universal Product Code), ISBN (International Standard Book Number) and LOC (Library of Congress) number, at no extra charge to you.
Many have found that TEACH Services, Inc.’s fulfillment is the best in the business. We have the ability to take your orders, pull each title, package and ship. Orders are shipped within 24 hours.
Some have found the difficulty of being approved to accept credit card orders. With the high cost of processing and fraud many just don’t do it. TEACH Services offers complete credit card processing.
Everyone loves 800 numbers, but few realize the full cost of such numbers. Remember these hidden costs: installation, advertising, labor, wrong numbers and crank calls all cost you money.
Unless you plan to sell only a few hundred books, you will need to select reputable wholesalers and distributors. On accepted titles we will publish your work under our imprint and offer your book to all our resellers and to other bookstores and distributors across the USA and Canada through “Books in Print” and on the internet with “Barnes & Noble,” “Amazon.com” and “LNFBOOKS.COM”. In addition, we handle all bad debts, collections and public relations.
You don’t have to have any extra copies printed unless you need them. TEACH Services will print and distribute your title and set the SRP (Suggested Retial Price) based on the size and extra work required to produce your book. We will also keep your book in stock by printing copies necessary to meet all demands.
We pay 10% of the Suggested Retail Price to the author on every copy of their book we sell — even on copies the author buys! As long as your title is selling and in print, we will pay for all future reprints and will continue to pay you your royalty.
When you wrote your book, your book”s content was automatically copyrighted. However, you may want to have the copyright offically filed with the Library of Congress by filling out the required paperwork yourself and $ 45.00 fee or we’ll fill out the paperwork and fee in your name for an extra flat charge of $ 65.00. Copyright information can be found at www.copyright.gov. A chart on how long copyrights last can be found here.
The average book takes six to nine months, from start to finish. We will send you a set of first drafts, to check and return, then a set of final proofs, to do the same, which may take from six to seven months or longer, depending upon the time for you to make corrections. Allow two months for press time (book to be printed, trimmed & bound). NOTE: If you prefer not to do your own editing, we will do it for an extra charge of $ 55.00 per hour.
No, but you may make three payments which can be by personal check, money order or by credit card. There is an $ 80.00 charge to break up the payments. We need one-third down to begin, the second third when your draft is returned, and the last third when the proof is returned.
We encourage the use of our 800 phone or FAX number for sending any drop shipments to your customers. You will only be charged for the shipping and handling costs. This will eliminate you having to pay for both shipping to you and then to your customer.
Yes. Since we only sell wholesale through resellers (such as book stores and distributors), we would encourage you to sell your book retail by any means you choose.
You may purchase copies from our stock at the same prices as any bookstore and still receive a full royalty on each book. Discounts are 40% off the retail price for less than a case, 45% off on full cases and 50% off on three cases or more. You may also have us do a special print run if you want larger quantities at even lower prices.
On each “in print” title, TEACH Services, Inc. will pay for reprinting costs and still pay you your royalty on the retail price. We will keep it in print as long as it sells. You will never have to pay for reprinting. Our publishing contract has complete details.
