Formerly Pioneering the Message in the Golden West.
Turn back the calendar a hundred years and you will find only one company of Seventh-day Adventists west of the Rockies--Merritt Kellogg's tiny group in San Francisco. Then two ministers arrive from the East and hold their first evangelistic meetings in Petaluma. Other "firsts" follow. A baptism is held, adding fifteen members. A church is organized in Santa Rosa. A camp meeting convenes in Windsor. A school is built at Healdsburg, a press in Oakland, a sanitarium at Saint Helena.
