Alf Lohne first visited the USSR in 1969 on a tourist visa. At the request of the General Conference president, he returned in 1977 and was much encouraged by the difference in the climate among Adventists. Since then he has made almost annual visits, often as an official guest and accompanying General Conference presidents. He has crisscrossed the country and worshiped with congregations large and small. He is eminently qualified to give us this look at Adventists in Russia
