Description
This book deals with the essentials of good language, and aims to make their treatment decidedly thorough and practical. It strikes at the root,—the philosophic principles on which rules are based, and by which we know when and how those rules may be modified to meet the demands of varying conditions and circumstances. Though small, the book is comprehensive; and literary workers, it is hoped, will find it useful and convenient. The scope of the work is briefly set forth in the introduction, and more fully shown in the table of contents.
