This volume has been prepared as a companion work to the three-volume Index to the Writings of Ellen G. White, published in 1962. It covers previously unindexed portions of twenty-seven books, and booklets, most of which have appeared since that time.

An index is different from a concordance in that it deals with concepts, topics or even people, places, and things, whereas a concordance uses only words to direct the searcher to a desired passage. An index is prepared by determining the main ideas in a passage, then preparing entries with the words a searcher might look to find the ideas.

In this new volume, basic directions, and purposes of the earlier Index have been followed, but with several differences. As before, two separate listings have been prepared one for Scripture references, the other for concepts and topics.
