Arthur L White, a grandson of Ellen G White, bases his work on family connections and the rich biographical sources in diaries, letters, and the records of her contemporaries. In this booklet he tells the human interest story. Going through the pages the reader meets Ellen White and becomes well acquainted with her as a mother, neighbor, and friend. He sees her also as a writer, speaker, and world traveler. At the age of 12 the author began showing visitors through the E G White manuscript vault, then located near Elmshaven, Ellen White's home in northern California. After he finished college, he was called to assist his aging father, William C White, in the care of the E G White writings and in arranging for their publication throughout the world. To this work and that of making Ellen G White and her work in the prophetic mission better known, his entire life has been dedicated.
