The purpose of this volume of the Family Medical Guide is to explain the organs and systems of the body, how they work, and how they can malfunction. Ten systems have been grouped by twos in five sections, and the sense organs are in a section by themselves. Each system is described first--how it works, and what is is like in good health. Following this is a discussion of the various ways in which that system and its organs can malfunction--the diseases and disorders that can afflict it.
