"In order to strengthen the plan of preparing and holding Bible readings the General Conference soon published a monthly magazine of twenty-four pages, called the Bible Reading Gazette. To those who would prepare and send to the publishers four Bible readings, the offer of a year's subscription to the Bible Reading Gazette was made. The plan was a success and in a very short time more than 12,000 copies of the Gazette were being used by missionary workers. By the end of the first year, the demand had become so great that the twelve numbers were published as a bound volume, entitled 'Bible Readings for the Home Circle.' Millions of copies of this book have been sold to the public; in fact this book has had the largest sale of any of our denominational literature."
