Over the skeleton of proved facts and dates, I have thrown the living flesh of the stories that father and mother have told us over and over again--the stories of when they were children.
To these have been added the stories that have been lived since we children could remember, to make a living, moving, romantic story of the life of a little Irish immigrant boy who became a denominationally known preacher and poet, who had a great deal to do with the beginnings of the Seventy-day Adventist cause in New Zealand and Australia.
My sincere thanks are given to the Ellen G. White Publications and the Statistical Department of the General Conference; also to the research department of the Review and Herald for their help in verifying dates and places.
