We have come to the time of which an inspired prophet wrote: "Many shall run to and fro; and knowledge shall be increases." The knowledge of our fellow-beings, of their circumstances, of the advantages they possess, and of the disadvantages under which they live, furnishes the best possible basis for a life of usefulness. The object of this book is to contribute somewhat to this knowledge.
