A childhood dream of the glamour of nursing is one thing, but the rigors of the actual experience are something else! Kerri, a long-legged brunette, finds this out, as do her classmates, both male and female. They discover that the hospital, particularly, is a grueling work place that demands the best that an individual has to offer. Very little allowance is, or can be, made for thoughtlessness, clumsiness, or human error. Yet there is never a day without a touch of humor or fun.
The attrition rate among the students is considerable, and Kerri and her friends wonder at times if they are really cut out to be nurses. Engulfed in the human problems of the units on which they serve, the young people find it difficult to maintain the objective attitude that is necessary for their survival.
A logical but surprisingly happy ending concludes this fast-moving true story.
