He served a term as a Country Medical Society President, one as Chief of Staff and later Chief of Surgery at Allegan General Hospital. He made house calls on patients in a radius of twenty miles or more and delivered hundreds of babies. At age forty-five he accepted a mission assignment as Medical Director of the Adventist Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. After two terms there he returned to his practice in Michigan. But his retirement 12 years later, found him volunteering for mission service totaling four more years. As a dedicated Christian doctor his life has inspired many a young person to follow in his footsteps and aim for More Stately Mansions in the Heavenly Kingdom.
