The mutiny aboard the HMS Bounty has been one of the most fascinating tales to come out of naval history. And the account of how the mutineers fled to Pitcairn Island where their descendants accepted the gospel is one of the high points in the annals of Christian missions.

Mutineer is the story of John Adams, who signed aboard the Bounty under the name of Alexander Smith. Joining with Christian against Captain Bligh, he and the other mutineers searched for a place to hide from the British naval authorities. Eventually they settled on the isolated South Pacific island of Pitcairn. The mutineers quarreled and fought among themselves. Finally John Adams was the last of the Englishmen alive.

Finding Mr. Christian's Bible, Adams began to teach the island's young people. Christianity brought an amazing transformation to Pitcairn's inhabitants. In the 1880's John I. Tay, a Seventh-day Adventist missionary, converted most of the population to his church. Roselyn Edwards has re-created the exciting history of Pitcairn Island.
