This is a story of Dan, impetuous, strong-willed, rebellious, and an alcoholic who by the influence of Christian friends gained an insight of what God is like and what He can do for one who lays self aside and gives himself over to the workings of the Holy Spirit.
It is the story of struggles to give up cherished sins and Dan's inability to do so until he realized that in his own strength he could do nothing. But chiefly it is the story of a changed life. How God used people to make Dan aware of his need. People who strengthened and encouraged and loved him. Dan, the derelict, the willful, rebellious one, became the consecrated, earnest, sympathetic gentleman, husband, and evangelist, a true man of God who believes that higher than the highest human thought can reach is God's ideal for His children.
