Although the Seventh-day Adventist Church grew out of the Millerite movement, it includes among its spiritual ancestors all those earnest Christians who have believed in an imminent Second Advent. For more than nineteen hundred years faithful Christians have expected the soon return of the Saviour, but now we have entered another decade and still He has not returned. Furthermore, the following decade will bring us to the opening of a new century. Several questions cry out for clear answers now: What significance--if any--do the 1980s have? How should the Seventh-day Adventist Church relate to these changing time? What issues confront Adventism in the eighties?
In an effort to help each thinking Adventist sort through the issues as we stand on the threshold of the twenty-first century, Southern Publishing Association has asked several denominational thought leaders to share their perspectives on the challenge facing the church today. Their answers and observations are in this book, Our Times As I See Them.
