The problems discussed in this book are those that commonly beset Christians who are sincerely endeavoring to live godly lives. The Bible set forth general principles, but individual Christians often find difficulty in applying them to specific situations. Talking a problem over with another Christian often helps one to see more clearly how best to make the application of rules to personal experience. These questions raised by people in various walks of life and the answers proposed by a well-loved minister friend are simply one way of talking things over.

The average reader will certainly see himself in some of the situations discussed. He may well discover many points of personal identity with the people who have asked the questions. If some of the problems do not fit his own experience, he may know of some person who does need just the advice given here, and may be better prepared to help his own circle of friends and acquaintances. For many people the book as a whole may well substitute for a friendly discussion group in which personal problems are talked over and prayed over and sound conclusions reached.

Pastors, church elder, college and academy teachers, and all who at one time or another are called upon to counsel those in need of spiritual advice and encouragement will find in these pages how one fellow pastor has answered his questioner, and they may find just the answer to some perplexing problem they have been asked to deal with.
