Removing the Gloss from Glossolalia / Rasmussen, George

The Christian participants in glossolalia want to find support for their activity in Paul's letter to the Corinthians, but there is no agreement or harmony in the way they put it together. Some say the Corinthian tongue speaking was private prayer to God. Others believe it to contain messages from God. Some classify it as expressions of enthusiastic excitement that can best be called ecstatic utterances. It has even been hinted that dead languages are being resurrected to prove the person has the baptism of the Spirit. The theories are endless. This manuscript is an invitation to rething what Paul told the Corinthian church that successfully released them from the bonds of ignorance concerning spiritual gifts. It is this writer's prayer that his letter might serve the same purpose today.
