Carl George, an ordained Baptist minister, made the following insightful statement while serving as Director of the Fuller Institute of Evangelism and Church Growth. After having studied the Seventh-day Adventist Church for a decade, he had this to say:

"In a special sense the founders of your movement were people to whom God spoke. He wanted to create a special witness so that the rest of His church could look at the faithfulness of your movement. He wanted the rest of the church to say, 'We could learn from them. We will be better people. we will be more obedient to our heavenly Father, and our Saviour, because we have watched the walk of the Adventists. We have watched the price they have paid. We have watched as they have been ostracized, as they have been misunderstood, as they have been slandered. But there will come a time when it's clear why they have had to go through these rather narrow channels and difficult pathways.' "And God will say, 'Look. See these people? The rest of you take note.'"
