As the memorial of God's creation, the banner of His government, and the sign of His sovereignty, the Sabbath was instituted in Eden. Since then it has remained unchanged down through the ages even unto the new heaven and new earth. When Christ walked the earth, He to observed the Sabbath as our Exemplar. Therefore, in both Old and New Testament times, Sabbath observance was clearly an obligation.

Sacrifices and their rituals were performed on the festivals, new moons and Sabbaths before the death of Christ. These were the shadows of His atoning ministry in which He serves as High Priest in the heavenly Sanctuary following His ascension. However, the weekly Sabbath was never a shadow of Christ, nor will it ever be.

The truth about Sabbat-keeping does not conflict with the doctrine of justification by faith. Rather, they are in perfect harmony. We earnestly invite you to study it carefully. May the grace of God, the peace of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit lead you into all truth.
