Early Seventh-day Adventists had a great interest in the topic of sanctification. They believed God had set them apart for a high and holy mission and that by faith in Christ and through Bible study they were to develop characters more like Christ's. One of the foremost advocates of righteousness by faith was a Daniel T Bourdeau.
In Sanctification, or Living Holiness, Bourdeau speaks out against false ideas about holiness and presented clearly and forcibly the Biblical position that sanctification is the work of a lifetime.
