A new and vaguely familiar voice took command. "Sir Thomas has become too powerful, I say. For those of us who remain there is certain wealth."
"I tink you are right. Ve cannot stop Sir Thomas from say vat he vishes, but dere might anoder vay. Ve could confuse da vork somevot."
"But that would be mutiny!" protested another.
"My friend," bristled the husky voice, "it is only persuasion. That is no sin."
