Description
Condition note: Book is gently used and very lightly marked.
Relevant Religion is a now book. It speaks directly to our day, our time. The first essays in the book are grouped around the title, "Facing the Final Crisis." In the leading essay the author deals with a topic that is seldom discussed in Adventist literature—the principle of authority. He shows how the question of the Sabbath and other leading issues relate to life's most basic decision—To what ultimate authority does man subscribe?
The second section of the book is entitled "Wake Up, Church!" In it, troublesome questions—such as: Does unity demand conformity? Are agitation and discussion good for the church?
Other sections include "Healthful Living," "Righteousness by Faith," and "Supernaturalism." The final essay discusses the Sabbath from a point of view somewhat different from traditional approaches. To our knowledge, no other Adventist literature contains the point of view on the Sabbath that it expresses.
More than most volumes, this book combines doctrine and practical Christian philosophy. It provides strong reasons for Adventist beliefs and at the same time discusses problems that face every Christian.
The author's correspondence with Adventists throughout the world, as well as his frequent overseas visits, keeps him aware of new developments within the church, and qualify him to speak authoritatively. This book will not only help keep readers on course spiritually, it will bring them pleasure and stimulation as they read.
