Description

At the rate man was going, I reasoned, he did not need God. After all, weren't men going to the moon now? Didn't scientists say human life was soon to be created in a test tube? Wasn't evolution enough? I was ready to chuck in the whole religious towel and really become the devoted agnostic I'd claimed to be. No on really needs God, I told Jan. And even if they did, He couldn't help them, because He was now considered dead. Jan's first reaction was to pray that God might forgive me for what I'd just said. In response, I only made a derogatory remark about her prayer.

Then I realized that my wife had not been talking to me for the past hour. I turned around and said, "Jan, that's not you talking." She immediately became white and fainted to her knees. I rushed to her side and knelt down beside her. It was during these few moments that we recognized God speaking to us. Our kitchen became charged with a massive power that bespoke His presence. He told us in a soft, pleasant and inviting way, "I am real. Seek Me and you will find Me." We were like Saul of Tarsus, blinded to our own way of doing things by the Lord Jesus Christ for our own good. So long had we remained in the darkness of ignorance and doubt that the piercing rays of light and truth were blinding to our minds' eyes. It was like being in a dark hole for a long time and then suddenly being brought into the sunshine. From now on we would have depend on the Lord's leading. We grasped tightly His hand in faith and began our search.
