About the Book
Imagine losing your mother, your father, and your home in a matter of months. What would you do? This is precisely what happened to Esther, and in this book Charis McRoy uses her imagination to explore what Esther might have been thinking, feeling, and experiencing using the words of a young girl pouring out her heart in her diary. Whether she was living as a street waif, moving in with her cousin Mordecai and his wife, Chana, or winning the ultimate beauty pageant making her queen of all Persia, Esther holds on to her faith, recording it all in her treasured diary.
Naturally, the author’s imagination has filled in some of the blanks left in the biblical account. Nevertheless, the storyline remains faithful to the history that we do know. As you read, you will admire anew a young woman’s determination to be faithful to the God who was always faithful to her, even amid trying circumstances.
