Swift Arrow reminds me of the book of Esther in the Bible. In both stories God isn't mentioned very much, but He certainly is present throughout the story. George Boylan (Swift Arrow) displays his belief in God through his actions. He stands up for what is right, he has the courage to do what is needed, he is destined to be a leader, and for good measure the book ends with a "happily ever after."
Children of all ages will enjoy this book as they journey with George through his many challenges, from being kidnapped by Indians to being adopted by the chief of the tribe to ultimately finding his way back home. Parents will appreciate the lessons it teaches about courage and faith, and trust in God.
