In this collection of engaging and short stories author, Lyndon Furst shares experiences from his life to help you recognize the value in the challenges that you face. Furst writes about his beloved dog Teddy, about the importance of a conversation over a good piece of pie, about learning lessons through the foolishness of adolescence, about overlooked human talents and potential, about teamwork and thinking of others. He also covers grandpas and grandchildren, the power of prayer, getting along in the church, God’s blessings and being faithful to Him, serendipitous experiences while canoeing, and about the legacy that we leave for others. The author’s aim is that you may be drawn closer to Jesus and be prepared to meet the Savior face-to-face when He comes.

TEACH Services received the following review:
"Dr. Jerry Furst’s delightful devotional take its readers through a series of 53 real life situations that not only raise significant questions, but also point to practical answers and leave readers with a biblical/Christian lesson. That is all good, but the best part is his delivery system. The format is autobiographical, which has the power of a good human interest story to not only make one want to read the next page but also gives, over the series of readings, a thumbnail sketch of a person who grew up to love Jesus and be a responsible adult in spite of being a “normal” kid who passed through his share of difficulties. Highly recommended as a down to earth devotional for down to earth people."

“'The Table’s Story' is a wonderful collection of short stories that come mostly from the author’s life experiences. There is a lesson in each story that will draw you into a closer relationship with God and your fellow man. This book would be great for family worships, for children’s stories at church, or as a private devotional, each ending with a passage from the Bible that perfectly reflects on the subject matter."

TEACH Services received the following review:
"'The Table’s Story' is a collection of snippets from the author’s life, accompanied by spiritual applications. The stories are entertaining, thought provoking, and relatable while demonstrating vulnerability and spiritual growth. Furst has a broad background from which to draw, including his family of origin, boarding school days, varied career and volunteer work in the education field, vacations canoeing the boundary waters, and involvement with a multicultural church spanning decades. I suspect there is enough fodder there for several more volumes, and I look forward to reading them."
