Description

The value of this new study of Seventh-day Adventism is that is focuses on the theology of this remarkably active and growing religious fellowship. It sets forth the fundamental beliefs of Seventh-day Adventism and compares and contrasts them with teachings of the Bible and the doctrines long held by the Christian Church. Thus the reader is led into a basic understanding and critique of this popular movement.
The books opens with a fine survey of the historical roots of Seventh-day Adventism, and then proceeds to discuss the Adventist view of the Bible, Man, Christ, Salvation, the Sabbath, and Christian Conduct. In the final chapter the author relates Seventh-day Adventism to the evangelical faith as to avoid the extremes of a narrow sectarian attitude and a broad liberal attitude. He locates the very real differences between Seventh-day Adventism and the Christian evangelical faith, and points the way toward a really unity.
