*Condition Note: Book is clean and well but gently used with lots of freckles on the page edges.*
The question may arise as you read these stories, Who is the "I" who sometimes appears as the one telling the story?
The first-person point of view is simply a literary device used to give an impression of intimacy, immediacy, and authenticity to the stories. Whether the "I" is a teen-age girl, a middle-aged woman, or even a man, it is not the author, but only the character in the story who is speaking.
The observant reader will, however, be able to guess pretty well what the author thinks and believes.
