The Heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth His handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. The Psalmist uses this poem to focus attention on two of God's greatest revelations. While God reveals Himself in a variety of ways, only two of the greatest of His revelations are summarized in the Psalm. These are first, the revelation of Himself in the natural world; and secondly, His revelation manifest in His written word. God's Word, the Bible, is one of the chief modes of all divine revelation. But God's second book is the book of nature. It too speaks of a creator and Savior.
