Bent Larson and his wife Anna came from Denmark to South America as missionaries late in the 1920s. They labored for the people of that continent, especially the Incas of Peru, for 34 years. Modern missions are what they are today because of the courage and dedication of those pioneer missionaries who braved travel over tortuous, high-mountain passes, through turbulent rivers on reed boats or on the backs of Indians, over crude, rickety bridges, or on narrow, twisting trails to bring the gospel message to the people.
This is the story of the move of the young Larsens from Umuchi Mission, near Lak Titicaca, to the Sandia Valley. The town of Sandia had been almost completely devastated by flood. The mission family had had to leave, and the Larsens were asked to take their place.
