How to Sell or Donate Adventist Books

LNF Books, a division of TEACH Services, Inc., buys used Adventist books to make available to those looking for missing copies of their favorite books or to support the mission work of Seventh-day Adventists. To sell books, first gather boxes of qualifying titles. When donating books, all Adventist materials, including devotionals, magazines, and missionary paperbacks can be included. Note: Shipping allowance will not apply to materials excluded on their Payment Form, however if any excluded materials are sent, all will be used in mission work and are NEVER destroyed. Shipping boxes (usually 35 or more lbs) should receive sufficient shipping allowance.

Pack books securely in boxes and indicate each as Box 1 of 3, Box 2 of 3, Box 3 of 3, etc. including a signed copy of the Payment Form in each box. The Payment Form has your contact information. Boxes received without a Payment Form will be treated as donations.

LNF Books evaluates many factors when pricing books to pay the greater of wholesale value or these baseline rates:

  • $5.00/pound for pre-1915 acceptable items
  • $0.75/pound for post-1915 hardcovers
  • $0.25/pound for other acceptable post-1915 books and materials
  • $0.85/pound Credit for boxed shipments or $0.35/pound for drop-offs of eligible materials
  • 30% increase in value when used as store credit for books or food items in Calhoun

Factors impacting value include:

  • Availability — Common books (books that are readily available) lessen the demand and its value, while scarcity will increase the value
  • Author  Some authors, because of popularity, will automatically increase the value of a book
  • Age  Generally, the older the book, the higher the price. However, this is just a rule of thumb because there are some older books that have no commercial value
  • Condition Appearance — The condition of a book will make a pronounced impact on its value. Missing dust jackets, torn pages, foxing, water damage or spots, rubbing on spine, underlining, loose bindings, etc., will lower a books value
  • Autographed  Whenever an author signs their book or a book is autographed or owned by a prominent individual, this will increase its value
