About the Book
The concept of praying through Scripture is one that many people have become acquainted with but using this concept may be a different story. Author, Maureen Thomas, has taken this concept to heart and prepared this devotional-style book as an example of praying through the Bible. Each day’s prayers are focused on a specific book of the Bible. A pattern rotates through prayers for yourself—Personal—and your family—Children, Son, and Daughter.
The idea for this book came as a result of the author being awakened during the night with the urgent impression to pray for her adult daughter. A couple of days later, her daughter was tragically killed in a car accident. Knowing that many parents agonize in prayer for their children, whether young or grown, she set about to compile 229 prayers drawn from each of the sixty-six books of the Bible.
“Dear parent, is your heart burdened over the waywardness of your child or children? Is it constantly afflicted by worry and concern over their noncommittal attitudes toward their Maker? Then pray. Intercede with God, for He is able to do exceedingly more abundantly than we can think or ask. Meditate on Isaiah 49:25, ‘But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.’ Claim it and believe it.”

A breath of spiritual rejuvenation
TEACH Services received the following review: This book, A Parent’s Heart Cry is truly a breath of spiritual rejuvenation, a breeze of God’s precious promises, and a wind of sustained power waiting to be released in the heart and home of every parent and grand parent who understand that children are truly “the heritage of the Lord.” In this treasure trove of 229 prayers, Maureen Thomas takes her reader to the throne of Grace again and again on behalf of sons and on behalf of daughters. What is so refreshing in this beautiful volume of intercessory prayers, is that Thomas reminds us that as we pray for others, we too need God’s intervention on our own behalf. This book of prayers reminds the reader that our children need God, and they need us to pray for them even when and/if they are unaware of their dire need. From the heart and mind of a mother, Maureen Thomas shows us what living faith looks like when we give our children and ourselves over to the ultimate loving Father - Jesus Christ the Righteous. This is a book of prayers that will take its rightful place alongside the other must-haves of every Christian parent. What a blessing it is! ~ Ruth S. Williams, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology

Insightful study and application of God’s Word
TEACH Services received the following review: A Parent’s Heart Cry reveals a woman who, while working her way through her own anguish and devastation, empathetically remembered mothers everywhere as they pray and agonize over their children. Delving into the Word of God, not just for solace but to become more intimately acquainted with her Best Friend, Maureen Thomas discovered that in every Book of the Bible parents can find supplicatory prayers that cannot fail to touch the Heavenly Father’s heart, since they speak His words and intention back to Him. Whether you use these prayers on your knees or whether they drive you to create your own supplication, they will transform your prayer life. ~ Lela M. Gooding, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus (English)
