Tom Hughes, a pastor for over forty years, knows first-hand the discouragement that comes from the endless pursuit of perfection. Many have only heard the gospel of Jesus PLUS our good works. A gospel all about what we do for God, rather than a gospel of what God has done for us. He has given us the blessed gift of His Son, whose perfection is there to cover us all.
We can't add anything to God's perfect grace, we just gratefully accept his glorious gift of salvation full and free! Finally, off the treadmill of working our way to heaven, we can make the gospel the basis for our worship and have the rest that only comes through trusting in the accomplishments of Jesus Christ on our behalf.
Pastor Tom Hughes graduated from Columbia Union College (now Washington Adventist University) with a BA in Theology and Psychology and from Andrews University with an MA in Religion. He currently pastors the Newark and Lancaster, Ohio Seventh-day Adventist churches and is the President and speaker of “Bible Biker Ministries”. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Debbie, 3 Children, and 9 grandchildren. He enjoys Bible study, composing music, writing, and riding his motorcycle. He and his wife have traveled on their Harley above the Arctic Circle, and in every state, sharing Christian books and Jesus with others.
