About the Book

In His Time is a tear-jerking story of a young woman who was the epitome of extraordinary courage, determination, and strength in the most trying situations. Her dream of becoming a medical doctor was shattered at age nineteen when Irish was given the life-changing diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus. She went from being a healthy child to living a roller coaster life as she fought this chronic and debilitating disease. Six years later, in 2005, she survived the greatest nightmare when she was hospitalized for six weeks at Loma Linda University Medical Center—her life in the balance.

How she survived the multisystem failure involving the kidney, lung, and heart is an incredible story to be told. Only the power of the Living God can do what we cannot in our helplessness. He is our only hope. He still performs miracles today and answers prayers just as He did in the past. Irish’s battle for survival teaches us that miracles still happen, that God is always there, and that He will hold our hands as we traverse the sometimes dark and hopeless road ahead. Yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel. God does make things beautiful IN HIS TIME.

Available in PAPERBACK and eBOOK formats.

About the Author

Norma Rivera

Norma Villoso Rivera is originally from the Philippines. She graduated from Philippine Union College (now the Adventist University of the Philippines) with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She later obtained a master’s degree in nursing from the University of the Philippines.

Norma resides in El Paso, Texas, and attends the El Paso Central English SDA Church. She uses her nursing skills as the Director of Nursing at Mountain Villa Nursing Center. She works to better her community in raising health awareness by organizing the McKelligon Canyon 5K run/walk each year. In her spare time, Norma enjoys gardening and cooking. She sponsors and participates in local healthy cooking classes and gives health lectures.

As a working mother, Norma always puts her family first—daughter, Irish, and son, Donovan. Her husband, Dionicio Rivera, has been her steady rock as the family faced struggle after struggle. Together, they learned that the only way through the darkness is to put their faith in the Heavenly Father, bringing light and hope to those who need it.

    It moved me to tears...

    ALR on 18th Jan 2022

TEACH Services received the following review: "The story was truthful, very detailed and well written. It moved me to tears just reading it and realizing how sick she was and how persistent you all were on her behalf. I had chills reading about Reo's commitment to Irish, how they loved, respected and cared for each other. I remember reading about her discharge from the hospital, how frail and weak she was. However, she was determined to attend church, which she did the first Sabbath after her discharge, in a wheelchair and the progress she made week by week. I was inspired by her tenacity to know that all things are possible when we depend on God." ~ Hazel Rosemond, RN, Del Sol Medical Center
