Another health and healing book! So why is Ordinary Woman, Extraordinary God different from all the other books? Alison has lived through many traumatic experiences, yet emerges triumphant and well, in every phase of her life: emotionally, physically, and spiritually. This book is not a step-by-step “how to be well” book, but the inspirational story of a woman facing pain and trauma and her journey—supported by written evidence of medical physicians—from death to life.

“If there was ever a person who could understandably be angry, bitter, and have a good reason to give up on life, Alison McLeod is that woman. Facing sexual molestation at an early age, living with a mother suffering the devastating effects of chemotherapy, and watching her four-year-old son die of inoperable brain cancer; these reasons would be more than enough for Alison to become hardened and throw in the towel. Add to that an unfaithful spouse, divorce, and then her own life-threatening battle with cancer, and you have a toxic recipe for tremendous suffering. And yet, because of the grace and love of God, Alison has emerged strong, healed, and is completely well, emotionally and physically. She tells her story in her soft, gentle manner because that is exactly who she is—quietly and uncomplainingly sharing her pain without requesting pity. Her inspirational strength and unshakeable faith and trust in God are rock solid and give hope to all those battling hopeless causes! Readers who have experienced the loss of a child, divorce, sickness, sexual molestation, or dysfunctional relationships will all find help and comfort in the pages of this book.” —Jan Levin

  1. Inspiring story of hope, healing, and God's goodness 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd May 2020

Without a speck of melodrama or self-pity Alison McLeod shares the story of God's leading in her life. It is a story which will resonate with many readers, as it did with me. Alison's honesty is heart touching. Her willingness to be vulnerable without seeking sympathy or praise for what she has endured is refreshing. The testimony of her faith and God's faithfulness is truly inspiring! For anyone who has struggled with childhood emotional baggage, a poor self-image, deep grief, uncertainty, or fear, this story is a must-read. Alison's amazing (though not instantaneous) recovery from stage 4 cancer is nothing short of miraculous and testifies to the value of faith and obedience to God. Through all of her life's difficulties, Alison recognizes and declares God's goodness and love. Her victories and her friendship with God will inspire hope in each reader. Her story, like her life, is really His. Read the book and then share it someone else who needs to know that hope and healing are possible.

  2. Incredibly powerful! 5 Star Review

"Ordinary Woman, Extraodinary God is a powerful testimony of God's loving involvement in one woman's life. It is a story that needs to be shared widely, because as John Hagee said, "Your testimony is the key that can unlock someone else's prison." This book is the key that will set many free from the prison of doubt, isolation, and fear. My faith has been grown by this beautiful story of love and healing that frequently brought me to tears of tenderness and warmed my heart."
~ Cornelle du Plessis, Life Coach

  3. A wonderful story about the faithfulness of an extraordinary God. 5 Star Review

TEACH Services received the following review:
"Have you ever had multiple struggles in your life that you thought that not even God could help you? A young child’s death in a foreign country while working as a missionary serving God? A failed marriage and later being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer? Alison McLeod struggled with all of these things, and she discovered what a faithful, loving and merciful God she served. God was at work through a multitude of circumstances and healing finally came in a miraculous way. Read this wonderful story about the faithfulness of an extraordinary God. This book will be an encouragement to all who are seeking a deeper intimate relationship, who need the touch of the Master."
    ~ Baronese Peters, PhD

  4. This book is a page turner... 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Apr 2019

TEACH Services received the following review:
"This book is a page turner even for those who have not battled cancer personally. It is one account among many of the battle with "big C" which demonstrates the value of a natural diet and life style treatment plan post cancer surgery, but the value of this account is in the transparency and vulnerability of the author. This is the story of an epic battle in which the author triumphs physically, emotionally and spiritually because of her faith in God's goodness. The climax for me was the chapter on "Forgiving Jesus." It is an inspirational, spiritual journey well documented. It will deeply impact you too!"
    ~ Dr Ian Hartley

  5. If you feel you can't carry on anymore, read this book! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Oct 2018

The emphasis of this book is on Alison's relationship with her precious Saviour, the One she clung to each time the Evil One tried to crush her. Her life is one of faith, relying on God for answers to all her questions, and even though the journey has never been easy, she tells of how He provides for all her needs. Alison tells her story in such a beautiful, flowing manner, which makes for easy reading for all. My cheeks were often wet, but as I proceeded through the pages of Alison's book, the more excited I became about also experiencing that peace, letting go of the reins and letting God take full control of my troubled life. This is a book you will want to tell your friends about!
