About the Author

CJ Anderson

CJ Anderson lives with her husband, Robert. They divide their time between Walla Walla, Washington, and McDonald, Tennessee, where their two sons reside. They are both retired, or just tired, as they like to say. The author has a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in science. She loves the outdoors, and even though various conditions have hampered some of her activities, she enjoys triking and music, traveling, reading, and visiting with friends. The author is ecstatic about how God has healed her back after five years of pain, four back surgeries, and many doctors. Her favorite Bible text is John 3:16 because it shines with the simplicity of God’s love and His plan for our redemption.

Author describes new ways of looking at common events

    ALR on 7th Apr 2021

TEACH Services received the following review: "Animals, college classmates, relatives, long-time friends and unsuspecting new friends, her own children and “practice children” were all in for an interesting ride when they became part of the author’s life. Friendships and daily challenges are described with creativity and humor. I’m glad I was not the recipient of any of the creative practical jokes described with obvious glee. These short stories, written with joy and clever phrasing, pulled me along, and kept me wondering what dilemma would be created or solved next. The author describes new ways of looking at common events—I learned a few new descriptors, such as “cartoon canoeing”. Lastly she offers readers her own original song about living a life with the Lord that she believes will bring ultimate joy." ~ Reviewed by K. J. Clayton, Author, Sociologist, Social Worker

    Stories captivate.

    ALR on 7th Apr 2021

TEACH Services received the following review: "Stories captivate. And a good story-teller can keep others captivated for hours. In Looking Back from the Wild Side, Charel Anderson is that story teller with plenty of stories to keep one captivated for hours. From many adventures (and misadventures), to college pranks, to canoeing in the Arizona desert, as well as recording the exploits of Spud the Wonderdog, and of weathering a gale in a houseboat, Charel weaves tales that remind us of that it is in the middle of our ordinary days that we can actually find extraordinary specialness. And in looking back, we can also see the golden cord of God's protection interwoven through them all." ~ Donald Keele Jr. Director of Young Adult and Adventist Christian Fellowship (ACF) Ministries for the Georgia Cumberland Conference
